The US dollar is the official currency of Turks and Caicos. Most hotels, restaurants and taxi services accept traveler’s checks, which can be cashed at local banks. Most credit cards are accepted and banks offer ATMs as well as cash advances on credit cards.
120/240 volts, 60 Hz is standard and suitable for all US appliances. Adaptors are not needed for US and Canadian appliances.

English is the official language of Grand Turk.
There are several options for transportation on Grand Turk. Since the island is so small, many people choose to walk. Oasis Divers also has bicycles that can be rented at a daily or weekly rate. Golf carts and car rentals are available. There are several taxis that serve the island as well.
Grand Turk is located in the Atlantic Time Zone.
Visa and Passport Requirements
Australian, British, Canadian, Other EU, and USA citizens must have a passport valid for a minimum of 6 months. Visitors must have a return trip ticket and entry into the country is valid for 30 days upon arrival. Visas are not required for the citizens of the aforementioned countries. Nationals not referred to above should contact the embassy to check passport and visa requirements for visiting Turks and Caicos
Note: Since 23 January 2007 all persons, including US citizens, traveling by air, land or sea between the USA and Canada, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda are required to present a valid passport or other approved document when entering or re-entering the USA.
With an average of 350 days of sunshine a year, Turks and Caicos is a perfect place to visit year-round. Average temperature ranges between 85 and 90 degrees (29-32 degrees Celsius) from June to October, sometimes reaching the mid 90's (35 degrees Celsius), especially in the late summer months. From November to May the average temperature is 80 to 84 degrees (27-29 degrees Celsius). Water temperature in the summer is 82 to 84 degrees (28-29 degrees Celsius) and in winter about 74 to 78 degrees (23-26 degrees Celsius). A constant trade wind keeps the climate at a very comfortable level. There is an annual rainfall of 21 inches on Grand Turk.
